Anna Kendrick was born to Janice (Cooke), an accounting professional and William Kendrick (a teacher). Her older brother is, Michael Cooke Kendrick, who has also acted. She is of English, Irish, and Scottish descent.For her performance in the role of "Dinah" in "High Society" on Broadway, Anna Kendrick was nominated for a Tony Award (second youngest ever), the Drama Desk Award, and a Fany Award (best actress featured in a musical). Her amazing performance won her the Drama League and Theatre World Award.She was a lead actor with Cabaret's Kit Kat Club at "Carnegie Hall Live" in Great Performances: My Favorite Broadway: The Leading Ladies (1999) (TV). She also appeared in "Jane Eyre" and "The Little Princess" for Broadway. In 1998, Jason Reitman cast her in Up in the Air. This was after watching her performance on Rocket Science (2007). The only actress from the Twilight Saga to be nominated for an Oscar.
